How and When: Appealing Oak Park Property Taxes

Everyone loves being a homeowner! However, it is no secret that nobody enjoys paying property taxes. A common practice among Oak Park homeowners is to appeal property taxes to the Cook County Board of Review.

Although property values are reassessed every 3 years in Cook County, homeowners are able to appeal their taxes each year as they deem necessary. This year, the Board of Review will be accepting appeals through December 20th, 2022.

If you are interested in partaking in this process but have not yet done so, the Oak Park Township Assessor's office will serve as a great resource for you! Assessor Ali ElSaffar is requesting all residents who seek help call the Township at (708) 383-8005 to schedule a phone appointment. They will be able to help walk you through the appeal process. Please visit the site below for more details on Assessor Services.
